Ring & Jewelry Care Instructions
Ring Care Instructions
Because your ring holds meaningful and often irreplaceable materials, proper care is essential to preserve both its beauty and integrity.
🌿 General Guidelines (Applies to All Rings)
-
Avoid harsh chemicals.
Do not expose your ring to solvents like nail polish, remover, acetone, paint, paint thinner, or their fumes. These things will destroy your ring and void your warranty. Chemicals such as penetrating oils, fuel, bleach, and other harsh chemicals should be avoided. -
Remove your ring during manual work.
Take it off before working out, using tools, lifting weights, or doing yard work — even small impacts or pressure can cause damage over time. -
Avoid prolonged water exposure.
Most rings can be worn for normal hand washing and showering, but we recommend removing before dish washing, swimming, or long soaks. *Rings created with wood should not be exposed to water.
-
Do not use commercial jewelry cleaners or subsonic machines.
Instead, clean your ring with a soft cloth, mild soap, and water. For stubborn buildup, use a small amount of non-whitening toothpaste and rinse well. -
Protect from drops and impact.
Never let rings clink together — especially tungsten and ceramic. And avoid tapping your ring against hard surfaces like counter tops or door handles. Do not drop your rings – material like tungsten and ceramic can crack or break.
💍 Material-Specific Care
Sterling Silver
-
May tarnish over time — this is natural. Store it in a dry, air-tight container or anti-tarnish pouch.
-
Prone to scratches – wear with care.
-
Use a silver polishing cloth or mild soap and water to clean. Avoid wearing during heavy sweating or when applying lotion/perfume.
Titanium
-
Lightweight and highly durable — great for everyday wear.
-
It can scratch over time, but it’s very corrosion-resistant. Wipe with a damp cloth and dry thoroughly.
Tungsten Carbide
-
Extremely scratch-resistant, but can break or crack if dropped or hit against hard surfaces (it's strong, but brittle).
-
Clean with soap and water, or non-whitening toothpaste.
Mokume Gane
-
A layered metal (similar to Damascus) that needs extra care. Its mixed metals can react to chemicals and moisture.
-
Avoid water exposure and remove before washing hands.
-
Clean with a very soft cloth — no chemicals or abrasive materials. Over time, it may naturally darken or patina, which many people love, but if you'd like to restore shine, we recommend contacting us.
Ceramic or Zirconium
-
Extremely scratch-resistant, but can break or crack if dropped or hit against hard surfaces (it's strong, but brittle).
-
Clean with soap and water, or non-whitening toothpaste.
Carbon Fiber
-
Carbon fiber is strong, lightweight, and highly durable—ideal for everyday wear.
-
Highly scratch-resistant, but hard impacts can cause chipping or cracking. Avoid dropping or hitting your ring against hard surfaces.
-
Use mild soap and water with a soft cloth to clean. Avoid abrasive pads or commercial jewelry cleaners, as they could dull or scratch the ring.
Wood Inlays
-
Keep dry at all times. Wood ring are not waterproof, even if sealed.
-
Remove your ring when washing hands, showering, or sweating heavily.
-
Use only a soft dry cloth for cleaning — no liquids or cleaners.
✨ A Note on Memorial Materials (Ashes, Hair, Flowers, etc.)
The inlay materials used in your ring — like cremation ashes, hair, flowers, or fabric — are sealed under several layers of sealant, but they’re still delicate.
To keep the inlay clear and beautiful:
-
Avoid prolonged exposure to sunlight.
-
Never expose the inlay to heat, moisture, or chemicals.
-
Store in a cool, dry place when not in use.
