The back can be engraved with a tribute to their memory, or any message that you would like. Please specify the font if requesting an engraving on the back.
This cutting board is food safe, but we highly encourage you to use it as piece of art and not a functional cutting board. If you use this as cutting board, you will create damage on the surface. But if you hang it in your kitchen and not use it, it will last for many many generations. Please don't use it.
The handwriting samples need to be clear of shadows and dark stains. You can upload the sample or email it to us. We will do our best to brighten the images, but the better the sample you send us, the better it will look on the board. If the recipe is long, I will have to shrink the image to make it fit on the 15" x 7" board. That's normally fine, but if it will be so small that the image will not engrave correctly, I will let you know before proceeding.
The back of the board can have a custom engraving on it. There is a section that allows you to add lines. The first two are at no extra cost.
The cutting board is created from Acacia Wood. To clean the board, simply wipe it with damp towel. To preserve the beauty of the Acacia Wood and make it shine like new, periodically apply oil with a lint free towel. I recommend mineral or olive oil.
